LED Fashion "Wearable Technology"

I love Hussein Chalayan, a fashion designer who ingrates technology all the time, which leads to véry surprising fashion. Shape shifting dresses, another dress made out of the wing of an airplane; his ideas are not all very wearable, but they are such an inspiration!

Philips is also interested in this area, from another perspective though, as we can see at their latest piece of technology: the Mood Dress. A dress that responds to the emotion of the wearer. Although it’s still a very spacy (not even speaking of the wearability) dress, I think these ’smart’ clothes’ are really a part of the future and I think it will be worn anyhow. Not in the spacy way, but maybe in a more practical way (as we already know the snowboardjackets with integrated headphones and phone system).

Mary Huang’s “Rhyme and Reason” collection integrates technology with soft fabrics like wool. I love how the little lights strengthen the idea of femininity and innocence.
